This position will be the People Services Professionals in the driver seat at the property level who will plans and implements policies relating to all phases of human resources activities including recruitment, international and domestic. Selection, training & development, compensation & benefits administration, wage and hour issues, and employee safety. Ensures compliance with all EEO/Affirmative Action requirements. Assumes a strong leadership role in supporting a team member environment that strives to achieve a high level of job satisfaction.

As a member of the Executive Committee, partners with top management in the creation of resort policies and procedures. Oversee and direct employment activities, ensuring that the selection and interviewing   process is within the local, federal and state guidelines to include specific Affirmation Action procedures. Monitor and evaluate associate orientation program. Oversee and manage formalized training programs for all associates to ensure alignment with the resort culture and standards expectations. Responsible for department budget. Partners with top management in organizational development and leadership development for managers and key associates. Plan and organize continual improvement process. Direct recruiting efforts by advertising in local papers and on-line recruiting sources.  Establish and oversee associate internship programs. Ensure management is compliance with all current local, federal & state labor laws.  Responsible for consistency and fairness of the disciplinary program. Responsible for changes / enhancement to the company handbook. Responsible for Workers Compensation programs, ensuring claims and reports are submitted in a timely basis.  Provide leadership and direction to the Safety Committee. Oversee resort associate recognition programs. Review and approve all Human Resource Action Forms. Manage 360 feedback program. Oversee resort benefits programs to include group medical plan, educational program, referral program, attendance incentive program and flex programs. Conduct exit interviews with management and key associates. Responsible for preparation of reports required by government agencies, such as EEOC, Department of Labor, OSHA and similar compliance agencies

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

The ability to have a balance in being a Strategic Business Partner while also being hands-on as a People Services leader Proven track record of success in all aspects of recruiting, international and domestic Previous experience in partnering with key leaders at the property to achieve property and organizational objectives Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or related field PHR or SPHR Certification Minimum of 7-10 years professional experience in People Services, including 3 years supervising and managing staff in the Hotel/Resort environment Excellent command of various federal, state and local employment practices laws & regulations Computer competency with Microsoft Office products Energetic self-starter, with strong leadership skills, work ethic, and highest level of integrity Good driving record that meets insurance company standards Effective oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
